Mikumi NP Daytrip with cultural Tour!
This one day safari package is tailored to take you to the southern savannah lands of Tanzania to explore and enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife in the great southern park named Mikumi.
The fauna includes many species characteristic of the African savannah. According to local guides at Mikumi, chances of seeing a lion that climbs a tree trunk is larger like in Manyara (famous for being one of the few places where the lions exhibit this behavior). The park contains a subspecies of giraffe that biologists consider the link between the Maasai giraffe and the reticulated or Somali giraffe. Other animals in the park are elephants, zebras, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests and buffaloes. At about 5 km from the north of the park, there are two artificial pools inhabited by hippos. More than 400 different species of birds also inhabit the park.
ITINERARY
1 Day and 0 Nights
Destinations: Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Mikumi National Park
Day 1: Transfer to Mikumi National Park and full day game viewing (L, D)
- Early morning of this day at around 05h30 you will be picked up from your hotel /residence in Dar es Salaam and transferred to the SGR train station in the city center to start your adventure. After 1 hour and exactly 30 minutes in a luxurious speed train, seated in the royal business cabin (carriage) you will find yourself already in Morogoro town where our driver guide will be waiting for you at the exit gate with a pegging board written your name.
- After a warm welcome and short briefing you will have a chance to breakfast in 30 minutes or less at Morena Hotel before driving direct to the park. Approx 90 minutes or less depending on the traffic
- Upon arrival at around 10h00 or earlier at the park gate you will be checked in, and proceed with morning game drives as well as afternoon game drives with lunch served within the park.
- After having your lunch you’ll proceed with afternoon game drives and subsequently check out of the park and heading to the village for a 2 hours cultural tour (Maasai boma visit) before driving back to the train station in Morogoro for your trip to Dar es Salaam. The train shall depart to Dar es Salaam at 19h30 and arrive at 21h10.
- Upon arrival at the station you will meet our driver who shall then drive you back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Meal plan for this day includes Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments throughout.
